Anyone want to help my cousin?

My mom called me tonight and told me that my cousin, Alicia, has the chance to win her dream wedding (lucky girl!!).

Manic Monday

In reading a couple of my friends' blogs today, Jayne's and Sherry's, I thought I would play along with Manic Monday. Love this week's questions :-)

Are you a saver or a spender?
Definitely a spender, especially on my children. I will buy the little things they want along the way. Although when dear husband and I need to make a major purchase, we hem and haw over it forever. I know I should be saving for the future, but I don't.

Do you prefer to walk around barefoot in your home? Socks? Shoes?
Always barefoot! Only wear shoes when I have to, and they are usually my Crocs or Birkenstocks at that. No socks unless I have to wear my tennis shoes.

Do you talk to yourself?
Sometimes. It usually seems to be when I am doing something on the computer and I am getting frustrated with it or its doing something I don't want it to. I'm like Jayne too and will have a later conversation with myself after I thought of the perfect comeback to something 15 minutes ago :-)

To play along...go to Manic Mondays

Do you.....?

Do you ever just feel blah? I think that's been my problem lately. I have no motivation to work, no motivation for my classwork, no motivation to scrapbook, no motivation to do anything. I have been happy just being a couch potato and doing a whole lot of nothing. Sad, huh? I am not sure what is causing my funk, but hopefully it goes away soon. I feel like I can't really talk to anyone, so what do I do? Put it out here on my blog for total strangers to read and comment on. Who knows, maybe now that I've gotten this off my chest, I can start to shake the funk off. Maybe it will be nice to have a break next weekend and see a good friend, but then again, I don't know how much fun I will be with all this other stuff rattling around in the back of my mind. I just wish I could be done with a lot of this stress, but that's at least a year away though still. Oh well...I trudge on and hopefully one day the funk will be gone. :-(

Pics from this weekend

Here is the group of ladies I got to spend an awsesome weekend with at Scrapshare Northern Alabama in Cullman, Alabama.
I was even able to get a few layouts done. I completed an album of my mom's & I's trip to Pella, Iowa from last May. These two layouts are inspired by sketchs from Feeling Scrappy's sketchapalooza class that I am taking right now.

This layout is for my mystery envelope challenge on Sisterhood of Scrap

Off to put everything away from this weekend, even though I will just pack it back up again in two weeks when I go away to the Scrapshare retreat at Camp Skyline in Mentone, Alabama. Can't wait for that one either!!!

Where does the time go??

I just realized that I haven't been on here for a week. Where does the time go? I know that this week just flew by. I was so excited and looked forward to last Thursday, March 5. I was able to spend a wonderful time with some of my friends from Scrapshare at Red Rooster in Cullman, Alabama. We enjoyed three fabulously prepared home cooked meals for two days, a huge brunch today before leaving, and just a great time of laughing and getting to know in person some people we felt we knew online. Ladies from California, Colorado, Michigan, Ohio, Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama came together for a weekend of fun. I even managed to get a whole album project done. I loved being away from home, although I did miss Cory and the boys.

I am now looking forward to the end of the month when I get to "escape" again for another scrapbooking weekend and seeing a good friend of mine from Missouri :-)

Well, I better get to bed now, since I have to go back to school tomorrow. I'll post some pictures tomorrow of my layouts and the group I was with.

Our big news today....

around Atlanta was the snow :-)

Cory and I just laughed watching the news tonight as the newscasters had nothing else to report about except the snow. Now granted, I realize that snow is not that common down here in Georgia, but still it seems to happen at least once a year. The first thing out of Alex's mouth when it started snowing was that he hoped we had a snow day tomorrow. I am hoping for that too, as the weather was a bit warm today while it snowed. There is quite a bit of slush still on the roads, which could freeze and make for some potentially dangerous road conditions.

The snow will surely be gone by tomorrow afternoon, but Alex and Ian were able to enjoy the snow for a few minutes when we decided to go out to the store to pick up dinner.
